Why it's important to update your website monthly
Written by the design team at HVD Studios, LLC

SEO, short for search engine optimization, is the process of adding relevant keywords and text to your website to attract the right audience (the right customers). While hiring an SEO expert to optimize your site can be expensive, there are a few adjustments you can make on your own to get found organically (naturally).
We don't believe in repeating information you can find easily on the internet so we're giving you a few straightforward tips to show you just how easy it is to keep Google happy and to update your website in the process.
Add A Blog
Adding a blog accomplishes two goals: It shows visitors that you are active in what you do and it also provides valuable information to them as well. What many don't realize is that when you write in a blog, you also have the opportunity to use keywords in your blog's title and in the body of the text.
For example, let's say you are a newly licensed plumber located in Baltimore and you are growing your business. Your title could read "Tips from a licensed plumber in Baltimore on how you can unthaw frozen pipes in your home".
In the post itself, you can list steps consumers can take to unthaw their pipes and at the bottom mention that you are available for immediate service by adding a call now link or button. Anyone searching for ways to unthaw their pipes will find your post and possibly contact you. Make sure you are using your location somewhere in the post as well. This logic can be used for any business or industry.
Add a feed from your social media page to your website's homepage.
By adding 2-3 post per week to your social media page and synching it to the website, you are showing that you are active and engaged.
Add a weekly contest or promotion to your website, but mention it on social media
Adding a contest or a promotion is a quick and easy way to get traffic from your social media pages to your website. Believe it or not, some social media pages fail to link back to a website. By making the visitor visit the website to either enter the contest or to take advantage of a promotion you'll generate more website traffic.
Add a share button to your homepage
Below this post is a share button. When you add one to your website, a visitor may be inclined to send your information to a friend or family member who may also be interested. While we use our share button for a different reason (to educate others on our blog) you should use it to get visitors to share your business information.
